One of the most relaxing things to do on a long weekend is to enjoy some indie music in a cafe and catch up with some good friends.
I kinda miss doing that eversince I got so tied up with work and parenting. Years ago, I used to visit this local cafe where indie artists gathered and shared their creative stories. It was inspiring just to behold new ideas and listen to creative music.
When I was in the States five years ago, my brother in law took me to a nice indie pub with his Frisco Dentist friend. It was casual, light hearted and cosy. I only wish there are more of this kind of cafes in town these days. But with thanks to technology, indie artists can now share their music and passion online to more people. There is no better time to experience better music and art in this 21st century.

Sometimes I would sit around and daydream about an indie bistro or cafe. How nice it is to have a concept store of indie gifts and products being sold in a simple cafe that serves natural food and organic drinks. Organize an artisan fair one a month and invite indie designers and artists to display and sell their creations to those who appreciate handmade and original creations.
On top of that, I could get a set of Polk Audio I-sonic ES2 and play some nice music in the indie cafe, tune in to new country music stations and new stations to liven the ambience. I can even display handmade furniture, homeware and artworks in the cafe as per our the cafe’s store, while allowing diners to purchase and take the creations back if they like. Adorn the cafe with fresh blooms every other day and if possible, have an organic and herb garden at the doorway. Wow – what an indie dream that is
