Budget for the Family Comments Off

Posted on June 02, 2011 by dorischua

Every family has a budget. For us, we budget not only for our groceries and house expenses every month, but we take into consideration our travel and living costs.

My hubby takes care of the insurance in the house so he would budget in our whole life insurance costs and keep track of our spending every month. It’s good that someone is doing the work and I’m just not that sort who is good at figures. I much prefer to be in the kitchen and whipping up nice dishes for the family!

Better Be Safe than Sorry Comments Off

Having a private healthcare insurance fund is certainly useful when you have a family. We just got ourselves covered for extras and I’m going to put a claim in for my son’s swim school and my chiropractic treatment.

It’s so convenient getting a good healthcare program these days and it can be done online. I did mine within minutes over the phone and now, our family is covered with a protection plan. I met a Texas truck accident lawyer and he was telling me that many people don’t have private healthcare and it can be a problem when something happens to them. It’s always good to better be safe than sorry… don’t you think so?

Healthcare Costs for the Family Comments Off

I have been checking on the private health insurance covers for our family and realized that it isn’t cheap. Healthcare prices is going up and it’s important to be covered as you never know what can happen to you.

Many people don’t believe in private healthcare and thinks that it’s a waste of money but other than keeping yourself with social security benefits, you should know how you can protect yourself when things happen. The truth is, you never know what happens therefore you need a healthcare coverage to avoid high healthcare costs imposed on you when things happen. Families have kids need to realize that medical care can be too much to bear when you have children so it’s better to be covered with a plan to avoid these high costs.

Electronic Games for Kids Comments Off

Kids are so fortunate these days. Whenever I tell my son that we are going to a friend’s house, he will be asking if they have wii or playstation in the house.

Most of my friends ahve ps3 games or a wii games console in their homes and my son will often ask when are we going to buy one for him. Well, we are trying to delay that as long as we can since we aren’t sure if my son will be too ‘addicted’ with electronic games. We don’t allow leisure games on the school week but it might be hard if we do have one playstation at home. For now, we are having success in the delay so we will take it from there and enjoy the simplicity!

Kick Off that Habit Comments Off

I’m so glad that we had a good easter break last weekend. Though we didn’t go anywhere or do anything spectacular, we managed to spend some family time at home and in the park. It was meaningful.

I had a friend who was trying to quit smoking and we were talking and discussing about different options and interestingly, I came across ecigarette too. I suppose it must be hard for him after being a smoker for seventeen years but he was determined to stop and kick that habit. As a friend, I hope that he can succeed in this goal and I know that he can quit this habit in no time. One of the ways to succeed is to keep occupied and not have too much idle time in one’s hands!

Good Coverage Policy Comments Off

After moving here for four months, I am searching for a good insurance to cover us during our stay here.

Some of the good ones cover comprehensive packages that includes holistic therapies which is a good thing. After some conversations with friends, they told me that it is good to spend time conducting some research before getting into one. For instance, some of the better ones may cover Maritime injury whereas many won’t. It is always good to ask the locals or to do a search and comparison in the internet. Like it or not, life is so unpredictable so it’s better to be cover with a policy before something bad really happens.

Up the Hill Comments Off

We love going to the parks on the weekends. It’s nice to have a picnic basket at the top of the hill and enjoying the breeze in the lush fields.

Last week, we bought to Mt Cootha and had a little walk up the hill. We saw a couple of weddings going on and it was nice to behold those nice wedding dresses on the brides. Sometimes looking at these dresses make you wanna get married all over again and you wonder why you didn’t pick a better dress years ago!

Tomorrow we are heading to my cousin’s house so that the kids can have some fun. I’m praying for nice fine weather so that we can go for a mountain climb!

Small Party in the House 0

Today was a busy day for us as we invited some rellies to our house for lunch. We’ve been here for three months and it is our first open house.

So this morning, i woke up early to do some chores and prepare the house for the small gathering. I moved my large mirror upstairs and realized that I needed a non slip mat for it. I should have bought one yesterday but there was just too much on my mind. After the chores, I had to warm up the food for the party and hubby was busy preparing the appetizer and snacks. I’m glad the gathering turned out well and the guests liked the food. We had a good time and it is always nice to catch up with rellies once a while!

Lessons Learned 0

Whenever I stepped out to the grocery store, I often ended up with more things. This morning, I purposed to go to the post office to post a letter and as usual, I ended up with a few bags of stuff.

For a long time, I have been searching for good masks and trying to find out how to remove dark circles and thus, I have been spending money on skincare to test out some products. This morning, I was shown some products and after buying a few items that promise to give me better skin, I came home to realize that I can get those skincare at a lower price via the internet, I was furious to learn about this and decided that I would bring all these products back to the store. I want them to take them back or give me a better deal as i felt cheated.

From this lesson, I had learnt that it’s always good to counter check with the internet before buying anything.

Budget Talk Here 0

Going on a budget is also a great way to save money. If you are looking to save for retirement, a new car, or a new home, going on a budget is a great way to save money so that you can reach your goal. All you need to do is determine how much money you need, and how much you can save each month by going on a budget. This will then determine how long it will take you to reach your savings goal. Even when you are buying roadside assistance plan, you need to cost it into your budget as you make plans.

A budget is something that should be taken very seriously. Many people start a budget just to break it the next month. They usually do this because they find something that they ‘cannot live without.’ If you are going to go on a budget you need to have a lot of self control and discipline.
