As I grow older, I am more careful about health maintenance as I believe that we should take great care of our bodies. Starting from this year, I told myself that I would be more active and not sit around for too long.

Living an active lifestyle isn’t enough. I am determined to eat properly and healthily. My hubby has been very diligent in his exercise regime every morning and I’m actually very proud of him.

He does his jogs every morning and yesterday I just noticed that he looks trimmer and less frumpy. He is so happy about his progress as well. Many people always wonder how to get rid of belly fat and they do all kinds of exercise but realize that their tummy is still fatty. Maybe they have to change their diet and switch to healthier options opposed to foods that are high in saturated fat. Physical exercise has an important role in keeping the body fit. It is not possible to have a fit body without performing regular physical exercise. While the idea of body fitness generally is thought to involve mostly weight and heart health requirements. However, we need to think about other organs as well as the heart. They are just as important as that organ. Performing physical exercise every day provides benefits to the entire body. It helps to restore what has been depleted during the course of daily living and ensures that the body is adequately supplied with what it needs to function in a healthy fashion

We need to educate ourselves about the appropriate things to do to keep our bodies fit over the entirety of our lifetimes. It’s more than just finding out the best diet pills when you are overweight. It is not possible to abuse a body for years and then hope that a last-minute effort toward bodily health will correct everything that may be wrong with it. It is not possible to create bodily fitness overnight. Becoming fit takes time and patience, and commitment.

Whenever it comes to setting yearly goals, many people tend to have ‘losing weight’ as one of their goals. But as the festive ends and every one gets back to the routine, the goals are forgotten.

Let’s face it. It’s not easy to lose those extra pounds when you love to eat or your life is packed with parties and gourmet indulgence. But discipline always have to come in and that takes lots of efforts. During a dinner conversation with some friends, I learned that one or two of my friends do not believe in the consumption of vitamins. Being a health enthusiast, I personally believe that certain vitamins and supplements are essential for the body functions.

My friend further argued that he takes lots of fruits everyday and thus, he should not need any additional supplements. I told him that our diet tends to leave out the essential vitamins and we don’t consume enough nutritious foods in our daily diet. For most of us, we tend to go easy with our food choices when we get busy. This can also affect our health if we neglect it by supplying enough nutrients for necessary bodily functions. My husband loves chilli and he tends to over indulge in spicy foods which is bad for his digestion. A friend of mine made a statement during one of our lunch meetings the other day. She said that we use all our health to chase wealth in our days of youth, then when we have the wealth, we would use all of our wealth to chase health. How true is that.

In the urban society that you and I live in, we are bombarded by challenges and stresses of this world. There is nothing wrong with stress as long as we manage it well and not let it get hold of us. But problem starts to rise when we abuse our health in the midst of coping with stress. It is important to take care of our bodies regardless of the lifestyles you choose to live. When I was expecting, I was taking prenatal vitamins since my busy schedule doesn’t allow me to eat optimally. I drink lots of water everyday and try to include a few servings of fruits everyday.

As indie as you can be, don’t neglect your health because you have the obligation to look after your earthly bodies.

Nobody likes to be called a fatso or be labeled as an overweight kid. But sometimes we are misled by what the media shows us about being slim and trimmed. Teenagers are being influenced by the media’s ideas of being attractive and appealing. It’s all about dressing well and looking as slim as the model on the cover page.

Well, I’m not against diets and I think rightly chosen, diets can save lives! There are people who struggle with weight loss and they do need to go on diet! But dieting doesn’t mean aiming to be skinny. To me, it’s about choosing the right foods and eating optimally. Exercise plays an important role to keeping your weight in check so dieting alone isn’t going to solve an overweight issue. There are diets that work and diets that won’t. One should really consult a nutritionist if a proper diet pattern is required. Otherwise, eating a balanced diet of whole grains, healthy fats and nutritious fruits and raw vegetables are a good start.

Since I’m feeling under the weather, I decide to search online to find out some home remedies for my cold. I was checking this natural health remedies blog and enjoyed reading all the articles on alternative therapies.

I am down with a cold and the sniffles is getting into me! I don’t like being sick. I can’t work, I can’t taste food, I have no mood to play and it’s just depressing! With history of skin allergies and rhinitis, my cold tends to last a little longer than usual. It is such a dread!

Those with eczema with understand the irritability you can get when the skin starts to itch. And in case you don’t know, it is hereditary which means if you have it, your children may inherit it. People with skin allergies need to pay close attention to their diets as some foods may trigger allergies. It is best to find out what causes the triggers and avoid those food or environmental problems altogether.
