Beauty and Looks 0

Posted on September 21, 2010 by dorischua

In the world where beauty seems to be the sought after word among the affluent women, there is a constant search for better looks.

I started becoming a mineral makeup user few years ago in my support for indie makeup owners and I still find that it’s working well for me. For some women, beauty is their priority whereas some work hard towards a more slender figure. For that reason, there are more diet pills than ever before and it’s all for the quest of better look and appearance. But if you ask me, one doesn’t need to go to the great extent of looking good and what’s more important is that you work on the inner beauty and look good from the inside first.

With that, the outer appearance will come altogether with some efforts and you will be a more confident person in the long run.

Being Slender 0

Being slim and slender is the dream of many young women but some aren’t ready to pay the price at all.

Talk about exercise and you can hear lots of excuses. Yet, when you mention about a short cut to achieve that goal, they will be all ears. Just do a search in the internet for weight loss and you can find all kinds of resources and options, from hoodia to irvingia gabonensis. With a little cost and time, you can achieve the weight you desire is the promise. But I think nothing works better than a proper diet and ample exercise.

I agree that it’s hard to exercise regular when you have a busy schedule. But that is the only way to gain nice muscles and a slender body. Like they say, no pain and you will have no gain. The saying is true and sometimes you just have to accept it and work to reach that goal.

Skin and Beauty 0

I woke up this morning with what seems like a bad hair day. My skin was looking tired and I just couldn’t get my hair to settle the way I like it to be.

No woman likes to wake up with bad skin or a pimple popping on the face. We wish those creams we applied the night before can work a wonder and make us look a year younger. I suppose that’s why anti aging products are so hot these days. Everyone likes to look younger! Who likes to have dark circles or those panda eyes in the morning. For that reason, more and more cosmetic brands are launching new products to entice women who are after good looks and beautiful skin. As they say, the eyes is the window to the soul. So to look young, you would better do something to protect your eyes!

So for a simple homemade remedy to keep your eyes looking healthy, soak teabags overnight and put them over your eye area for 10 minutes. Not only will you get a calmer eye area after that, you would probably look fresher and more alert!

Being Slim Is A Dream 0

Posted on June 03, 2010 by dorischua

For some people, staying slim is a dream. For others, it’s a blessing that has been taken for granted. We are often misled by the media on the definition of being slim. Young girls starve and skip meals just to achieve that slim figure on magazine covers and billboards.

While being slim is not a bad thing, some have reached the extremes of obesity. Being obese can bring lots of health and psychological problems which can led to social issues for the individual. There are lots of slimming options in the web and you can read reviews of apidexin and other weight loss options. Reading reviews can increase one’s knowledge so that you can be better informed. This will lead to better decisions before embarking on a program.

Do not be obsessed by those media covers of what being slim is all about. Focus on your health, eat the right foods and being slim will no longer be just a dream.

Shopping for Beauty Products And More 0

I can never seem to get enough of beauty products shopping when I’m overseas. From cult labels to organic beauty care, I like to try out new range and items especially when they are made of natural ingredients.

When I was in Hong Kong, I love to drop by Lane Crawford as the store carries an interesting range of beauty and personal products. From organic to the most popular street label, you can find lots of new products for the beauty queen. For a long time, I can’t seem to find the best eye cream for dark circles and I’m still searching. Shopping in Hong Kong can be cheaper than China and that explains many tourists from the mainland are buying up the fashion and luxury labels when they are in Hong Kong. There is also a growing number of local designer labels in the last few years and their works do come with a price too.

My girl friend is in Paris now and I can’t wait for me to update me on her search for indie clothing in this beautiful city. And if possible, I hope to visit personally in the near future!

Natural Skin Products For Better Skin 0

When it comes to beauty products, there is no lack for choice of brands and labels these days. With so many on the shelves, it’s hard to decide which ones work best unless you have personally tried them. Lately, I started trying out some home made beauty products by some mommies who started making their own face and personal care products at home.

Whether you are that sort who spend on the most expensive beauty brands or just sticking to your good old favorite facial soap, I’m sure you have a beauty regime everyday. I’m a fan of all natural and organic products and it’s been some years that I’ve been using natural skin products and I still think that an all natural face moisturizer is better for my skin. If you have and would like to try out some homemade masks, there are lots of recipes in the web.

So if you havenít tried any homemade skin care treatment before, the following are some of the widely known natural skin care recipes that are worth checking out:

1. Facial mask – cucumber/honey/oatmeal

For a must-try natural skin care moisturizer, one of the most popular homemade treat is the facial cucumber/honey/oatmeal mask. What you need are the following ingredients:

* One to two teaspoons of uncooked oatmeal
* One tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil
* º pureed or mashed cucumber
* One tablespoon of organic honey

You need to mix all the ingredients together until a thick paste is formed. You can add additional olive oil if you prefer a thinner texture. After mixing all the ingredients, you can gently apply the mask to your face, and wait for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing with tepid water.

Beauty Secrets From Home for the Indie Beau 0

Even though we know that ‘beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder’, we know that people do take great lengths to look good as they age. These days, more and more people are seeking for natural remedies to solve their beauty needs. In case you don’t know, some of the beauty treatment secrets can be found in your kitchen. Being indie is not just about a free and creative attitude, it’s also to go back to the basics and seek the naturals.

For a start, let’s look at the many benefits of honey and how it can play in part in beauty treatments from home. Honey in its purest form is suitable for all skin typesí even sensitive skin. Beauticians suggest using honey abundantly for radiant complexion. Skin care products like baths, shower gels, face creams, skin lotions, moisturizers, body scrubs and even newborns products contain pure honey. I’m not sure if the below ideas can help with your dark circles but they are great for beautiful and youthful skin! Here are some ideas for the indie beau:

1) To moisturize dry skin: Use 1 tsp honey, vegetable oil each and º tsp of lemon juice. Pat it on dry areas of your skin, leave for 10 mins and rinse with water.

2) Make a moisturizing mask with 1 tsp of honey, 1 egg yolk, half tsp almond oil and 1 tsp yoghurt. Apply on your face, neck and other parts of your body. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse off with water. You skin will feel moisturized and polished with tightened pores.

3) For silky-smooth skin, mix half cup of honey and 3 tsp of rosewater. Apply to face, neck avoiding sensitive areas around the eye. Massage well and rinse with lukewarm water and enjoy the sensation of an all different skin.

4) Open the pores on your face by place a cloth dipped in warm water. Smear honey on your face for 20-30 minutes. Rinse first with warm water and then cold water to close the pores.

Organic Skin Care for Better Health 0

Posted on October 21, 2009 by dorischua

For a long time, I have been a faithful user of organic and natural skincare and some of these natural products are made by independent herbalists who take great pride and care in designing a product for skin health.

I know there are some who do not believe about the use of organic skin care but it’s down to an individual preference at the end of the day. What works best for one may not work for another. Personally, I like the idea of using skin care that does not contain harmful ingredients that are bad for my skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body and it is constantly absorbing what you apply on it. Some of the organic products are owned by small indie beauty owners and thus quality is ensured. The skin care is also produced in smaller quantities to ensure efficacy and freshness. Whether you are searching for acne skin care or the best eye cream, I’m sure you can search for a good organic product online.

Many indie followers are also environmentally conscious which led them to embrace the philosophies of organic and natural skin care products. So the next time you went shopping in your local markets, do stop by and give those handmade and homemade stuff another fresh look.

try natural mineral makeup for free 0

Posted on October 24, 2008 by dorischua

We had a bereavement in the family last week and I was away for the weekend. I haven’t been to the shops for a while until yesterday. I had to shop for a baby shower gift so I managed to check out some baby bedding while out in the shops.

It feels good to know that the weekends is here. My makeup vanity area calls for a clean up as I clean up my mineral makeup on the table. Maybe it’s time to replenish my natural makeup collection too, just in time for the coming festives. Not sure if you ladies have tried natural mineral makeup cos if you haven’t you don’t know what you are missing! Using mineral makeup doesn’t have to be that hard. Besides being gentle and light on your face, it doesn’t clog pores which means your pores get to breathe! If you want to give natural mineral makeup a try for FREE, here is your chance.
