For the Eco Friendly: Urth Bags 0

Posted on October 03, 2009 by dorischua

In the last post, we featured UglyFish Organics and their fun philosophy when it comes to designing kiddies fashion. Honestly, I still like the cool name of this brand and it complements what Indie Fashion is all about in the world of creativity.

For a long time, I am a big fan of nice cool indie bags and this post, I would like to feature Urth Bags for the travel bugs. All my friends know that I am a great supporter of health travel and I’m also particular about choosing the right bags when I go on vacation. So who is Urth Bags and what are they known for? For the environmentally friendly individuals, you will appreciate UrthBags as each bag is made from recycled or biodegradable materials. Local craftsmen are used in the creation of each unique bag, instead of shipping things around. UrthBags strives to spread the word about eco-mindedness, recycling and reusing in the all-too-often disposable fashion industry.

Leading an indie lifestyles sure requires some creativity and boldness. Creativity is defined in many ways and the common answer to that would be thinking out of the box or having variations.

I have great admiration for indie designers. I admire their bold creativity and approach towards a piece of design. Whether it’s designing indie clothing or indie accessories, there is always a touch of individuality in an indie design. Therefore if you want something different, something unique, something cool or artistic, check out our indie fashion store. Personally, I’ve just ordered a couple of tote bags for my girl friends and one of them is already planning to take the bag to her Outer Banks vacation!

You would be happy to know that many of the indie clothing, bags and accessories are affordable and they aren’t mass produced. Therefore you don’t have to worry about your neighbour carrying the tote bag as you! Start shopping for summer now – go indie!

Finding a chic and unique gift for someone who is in the hardware and work holding can be a tough one. Thankfully, this dear friend of mine loves ethnic stuff so the chic qualities can be put on hold for a while.

This set of Brocade Rocks Glasses by New Arcadia Studio make a beautiful gift idea for someone who loves a drink or two on those social occasions. Used them for serviing spirits in notably glamorous gilded rocks glasses with vibrant hand-drawn brocade pattern. For chic gift ideas or ethnic gifts, check out the range of products at Aliza Darik Inc dba MultiChic.com.

more than a laptop bag 0

Posted on June 19, 2008 by dorischua

It is a trend to hang out in cafe with your laptop these days. Surfing in cafe like Starbucks is a lifestyle, just like drinking coffee – it’s more than just a drink. People gather in cafes with friends, for meetings and relax in solitude. This is the life of the 21st century for the young people, working executives and the yuppies.

And if you are hanging out with a laptop, you wanna make sure you carry a nice laptop case too. It is hard to resist this attractive and stylish crimson red laptop bag from an indie designer in Dawanda. It is suitable for both men and women and from the look of it, there is enough space for your laptop, micro sd, cables and thumb drive.

handmade bags and totes from ember 0

My cousin and I love to shop around for handmade products, particularly handmade purses, bags, jewelry and even shoes! While searching for her acne solutions one afternoon, she came across Emberbags which specialized in handmade bags in limited pieces. All the bags on the website are made with lovely fabrics and prints sourced locally and if you like a customized look or style, Ember will be pleased to answer to your requests. I realize that most, if not all of the bags in the online store are sold but I believe it won’t be long before more bags are added to her collection.

stylish and chic bags for modern moms 0

Posted on June 07, 2008 by dorischua

We just came back from visiting our close friend’s one month baby. He is such an adorable boy. We had a great time talking about packing for babies and traveling with little ones. Then it went on to discussing about baby bags and carriers.

One thing I found out since becoming a mom few years ago – modern moms like stylish and chic baby bags. I first heard about Orla Kiely stylish bags when I was searching for jobs in San Francisco. Since, I’ve always wanted a Orla Kiely bag when my child was born but somehow, I’ve never got round to getting one. Colorful as a box of crayons and a summer rainbow, this cute Orla Kiely bag is a must-have for the upcoming summer. Who minds adding another stylish bag as you step out into the golden sun.
