I have been receiving lots of emails on online cards and it’s obvious that this is one of the quickest way to send a greeting to someone far and near.
No matter what the occasion is, you can now order a card online and there are many designs that are better than the ones you find in the stores. Having a wider option means selecting the design you love and all these can be done from home. You can browse from birthday cards to Halloween party invitations, choose your design and order the quantity you desire. Many online stores offer free delivery when you spend a certain amount with them.

I am so glad that I bought my new nikon D7000 last month before moving to brisbane and it’s been serving me very well.
After months of research in the web and reading lots of camera reviews, I concluded that the D7000 is a good camera to buy and I’m so glad I got it at a good price. I haven’t had much time to explore the new functions but I hope to do more in the coming months. Perhaps I should join a community so that I can improve my camera skills and upgrade my knowledge in the area. With the weather clearing up, the photos are going to look better and I’m just so excited to capture new scenes.

I never know that my hubby likes art that much until he decides to buy an art painting by a local artist in an exhibition. I was surprised.
In the past, we will buy small prints and hung them in the house. I recalled getting some art prints
one year when we were in Australia and somehow we never got round to framing the pieces! From that day onwards, I was hesitant about buying any but this time, my hubby bought a big one!
Now the art print is sitting in my home waiting to be sent with my container…. this time, we must make sure we hang it on the wall!

My hubby always think I’m fussy with home decorating but he doesn’t understand that all I was doing was to get things done right. We do have a clash of styles and ideas from time to time. It’s hard to get him to share my love for indie things and to embrace an indie lifestyle. And I don’t blame him.
We went shopping last weekend for some furnishings for the house. I wanted to check out some eco furniture and handmade stuff but he was complaining about how expensive they would be. He picked up some door hangers and placed them back when he found out they were hand made. In his opinion, handmade stuff always come with a price tag. I love supporting artisans and craftsmen so I took a different stance. To me, it’s not just about being indie but to encourage art and an eco lifestyle that I support artistic trade. If no one supports these artisans, it will be a waste of talents. Moreover, I like the way indie artists incorporate nature with their creations.
I may not be a craftsperson but I appreciate such indie products and I hope that these wonderful artisans will continue to share their love for design and spread their passion for a purer lifestyle. When is the last time you support an indie artist or designer?

Do you know that art festivals are great ways to save money on all sorts of art. Whether you are looking for paintings, pottery, sculptures or sketches, art festivals are great places to purchase original works of art. You never know you may be buying from on unknown artist that may be worth more in the future. It is especially ideal for art lovers who are looking for one of a kind pieces of art.
There are many different artists selling their original pieces at an art festival. Whatever your preference in art there is a choice. These festivals are great opportunities for unknown artists to get their work out there and be known for their talents. This is a great way for an art dealer to find some extra pieces for their shop. I have some friends in the Ferrari parts business who will go around buying art pieces for collection.
For those who aren’t into buying, you don’t have to go to make a purchase. Just go out there and see all the talents that the locals in your area have. You will be amazed at how much talent you are surround by every day. Is a nice way to get and enjoy the neighborhood. Spend the day relaxing as you look at art and socialize with happy people and art lovers. There is usually food and refreshments available too. So you could go just to get a taste of what the local vendors have to offer. Take your time stroll around and browse at all there is to see.

A fellow indie designer friend was just sharing to me about his personal experience in a rc helicopter and I thought it sounded like fun!

Well, as the week draws closer to an end, I’m packed up to leave for my hometown over the weekends. This weekend, I will have the privilege to meet a indie fashion designer who is known for her re-engineered tees. She integrates oriental designs and motifs onto t shirt casuals and tops. I’m hoping to visit her fashion art gallery since she’s got a fashion sale going. I always like Oriental themed clothing that are modern and chic and Vivienne Lin from Fuchsia Lane does it so well. Till then, I’ll make sure I snap some shots of her lovely tees and creative fashion works.

As much as I love shopping and looking around for the right gifts for birthday gift ideas and anniversary gift ideas, it can be a ‘stressful’ event on days where I don’t seem to feel creative.

In two weeks’ time, we have to attend an anniversary party of a dear friend and I’m been toggling between getting an eco friendly gift for the home and a fun set of home cutleries for this couple. Mom was suggesting that I should take a look at the Miele vacuums but I still want something cute and fun like those hand-painted glasses at ClearlyInspired.com. If you, like me, adore hand-painted works of art in the home and kitchen, then you ought to check out susie walker’s lovely works of glass art.
So, it’s hard to decide – a boring practical gift idea or fun one that adds a bit of jest…

I just came from the website of Avalisa after learning about it through a design website. Just one look at the wall prints and wool rugs and you can tell that the designer for these elements of art is one who loves colour and design. Read the rest of this entry →

While attending a talk on Los Angeles labia reduction procedure, my girl cousin happened to sit next to this lady who is a fan of indie stuff. And since my cousin knew about my penchant for indie accessories and clothing, she couldn’t wait to tell me more about her conversion with this lady. And that’s how I learnt about Poppytalk handmade. It’s always a thrill for me to discover new indie sites, businesses and blogs. When I came across manic trout, I was inspired of her creativity and artistic flair. She uses simple materials to create beautiful stuff and the result is a masterpiece, a one of a kind handmade accessory for the modern gal or the fashionista who prefers to stand out from the crowd and escape the lure of the latest trends in town.
