It’s another weekend on the way – it feels nice. This coming weekend, I would be traveling to hubby’s hometown for a day trip. I’ve never quite enjoyed a tiring trip like this since it robs me of my indie surfing on the weekends. His hometown does not have an internet connection. Looks like I need to bring along a magazine or this new book given to me, A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose for the trip.
But if you have some time this weekend and like to check out the works of artisans and designers from all over the world, don’t miss out the cool collection at Novica.com – handmade rugs, jewelry, aprons, homewares, clothing and lots more, I’ve always find an indie product that inspires and impresses. Novica.com is a great online store for finding the perfect family gifts, romantic gifts, unique gifts, artistic gifts, personal gifts and wedding gifts.

I’ve been terribly busy in the last couple of weeks. Work is piling up during this time of year and I haven’t had much time to do my blogging. Besides, I have to help a friend who is looking for a bus for sale while booking our accommodation in advance for New Year’s eve.

But I haven’t forgotten that it’s Earth Day tomorrow and this is when I’m reminded by what I saw at Eka website few days ago. For those of you who live in Australasia, you may wanna clothe yourselves with one of these lovely Hayworth Beret and mittens set. Made of 90% acrylic 10% wool, they look absolutely gorgeous on a cold wintry outing, helping you to stay in style while keeping you warm.

Sunglasses can be an important acceossory for fashionistas, celebrities, beach goers, sports man, travelers, sun worshippers…etc. While some people may use it purely for function while celebrities like Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt follow fashion trends or styles to align with their branding image. While fashion works very much like a clock, the vintage sunglasses are back again with a vengeance and fashionistas use them for style and fun which make them a fashion fad that never seems to fade away.

If you like anything black and white or if you are a monotone person, check out the curio collection by Angus & Celeste from Australia. This range consists of different animals carefully etched on pendants which exude a timeless and classic feel to any outfit. If you prefer your pendant in indigo blue or moss green, check out the Adorn range, which features decorative motifs and designs on the pendants. A look at the Bellissima jewelry reminds me of the little girl in all of us. Founded by, Sarah Bridger, a jewelry designer and with a background in photography and cultural geography. As a creative designer and artist, Sarah specializes in combining semi-precious stones, shell, wood, bone, glass, crystal, sterling silver, gold, and some vintage materials to explore the relationships between elements like texture and color. You can tell from each handcrafted piece of jewelry that Sarah is a lover of nature .To ensure a level of individuality and distinctiveness within the Bellissima Jewelry Design collections, each design is crafted in limited quantities. Because each piece is hand-crafted and stones can naturally vary in shape, color, and size, each piece in a limited edition may not be identical.
Here are some of our favourites:

Lots of indie artists and designers draw inspiration from art and nature and owner of Blue Wild Indigo, Carolina Graber, is one of them. I also agree with Carolina that whether it’s costume, face painting, tattoos, or jewelry, we often look to nature for our materials and our inspiration. The use of gemstones, shells, wood, silks, and precious metals have long been used to create ornaments for the human man.
Carolina’s designs remind me of the modern lady who loves simplicity and pure elegance, without being loud since accessories should complement the lady and her attire and not call for attention at all. Her jewelry is subtle and timeless which means you can use them for all sorts of occasions, throughout your lifetime, and won’t go out of fashion.

My cousin bought us some funny t-shirts that came in the mail today. With her wedding leading up, she’s got lots to do. After spending much time at Viv&Ingrid’s online store, I spotted a few lovely jewelry pieces that would be perfect for her coming wedding. The stone necklaces are combined with a great sense of thought and creativity with matching earrings and bracelets. The Eden collection features a beautiful 14K gold filled Daisy necklace with smooth, flat mother of pearl daisy pendant and faceted red jade teardrop center. Also available in coral, topaz, emerald jade and onyx teardrop center.

While shopping for indie bedsheets for my mattress topper, i came across viv&ingrid, a lovely online store that sells accessories and a wide array of gifts. What I like about the stuff here is the cute and sweet packaging and presentation of the accessories. For instance, a pair of silver post is mounted on a graphical card. This is the tiniest silver heart post! Heart is flat and measures 3mm and sits on a blue & pink 4-flower card. Even the loop earrings is presented in a Viv&Ingrid’s complementary signature bag.
After reading more about the product info, I came to understand that Viv&Ingrid has always been an environmentally conscious company. You can tell that they are truly into recycling and energy conservation, an issue that is much seen as a growing trend.
From the beginning, Viv&Ingrid adopted a 0% waste policy with all of your signature bags that come with your jewelry. Using mostly remnants and salvaged bolt ends, our tiny bags have often been individually cut out to minimize wastage of fabrics. Ingrid calls it, “No Fabric Left Behind”. Find it at http://www.vivandingrid.com/
