Whenever it comes to birthday gift ideas, there are a few places I like to shop online.

Snow Ski Rocker

One of the many cool online sites to shop for unique and affordable birthday gift ideas is Uncommongoods. I like their range of artistic and creative home decor and dining gifts. They are unique on their own and like what the online gift store’s tagline says, you can expect to find nothing ordinary! From patio furniture to jewelry to unique wall art or unusual sculpture pieces, I can often find something indie, artistic and special there.
Shopping for unique birthday gift ideas, why not drop by for a look at UncommonGoods

The weekends are here again! As much as it’s going to be a nice break, it’s going to be a busy one! This weekend, hubby has agreed to attend an indie music festival with me
Though I’m not a musician myself, i enjoy listening to indie music and promoting great indie bands. We’ll be heading to Phuket this May with a group of friends and I’m looking forward to pick out and hopping into indie music performances in a friend’s campus. Before I gorge too much during the trip, i probably need to bring along some diet products to keep myself from putting on too many pounds! We’ve found some great Phuket hotel deals so that means we can use the savings for some great shopping too!
So I’m geared up for my indie music festival and can’t wait to grab another indie cd home.

This weekend, we are thinking of heading to a local flea market to check out some indie furniture. Well, you may be wondering what on earth is indie furniture. Well, I call it indie furniture cos they are designed by indie designers and artisans.
Personally, I would rather get indie designs than discount furniture from a commercialized, mass produced store. There is much more character in buying indie stuff.

It’s Valentine’s day today! how are you celebrating this hearty occasion?
As much as I think many retailers have commercialized it, it is good to take time to show our love and appreciation to those we treasure. Our family has decided to go simple this year. We decide to go indie! Instead of expensive dinners and gifts, we decide to make each other some simple indie gifts, cook a homemade dinner and enjoy a nice movie together since we just got a new plasma tv which is now sitting nicely on the plasma mount.
Perhaps, you can design or choose some indie gifts instead of those mass produced ones. How about creating your own painting or be your own indie designer. With some thoughts and efforts, everyone can indeed be an indie designer.

It seems that researching for a good topic that is indie related is a challenge. Perhaps I may shift away from the stereotyped ‘indie’ keyword to something of independent nature.
Perhaps it can be an indie blog that discusses topics for wine enthusiasts who are keen to learn about the wine of the month or maybe I should just focus on green travel. Indie travelers or independent travelers are becoming more keen in green travel issues these days. There is a growing community of indie travelers moving into slow travel since this is a great way to learn and see more of a travel destination. Indie traveling, green travel and slow travel are great topics which I would look into. For now, I would need to check out the popularity of these topics and themes in the web.

Years ago, I was caught up in this Swatch watches thatI was buying up all the artistic collection and seasonal launches that are designed by indie artists. As a designer, I find it very inspiring to admire the watch designs by various designers from time to time.
Though I don’t wear them anymore, I still look out for impressive art collections and indie designs by this watch maker. What’s cool about it is some of these indie designer watches are packaged in artistic packaging that are too nice to be stuffed in the cabinet.

Exploring indie music is never my forte thus I find it hard to redefine the topic of this blog. For a long time, I’ve been thinking about defining the theme but still, the search has been hard.
Independent music is a nice subject to talk about so it’s one possibility. I was shopping for Rackmount monitor the other day and saw a festival on indie music featuring indie artists. So yes, I can transform this blog to indie music, independent artists, clothing indie and stuff pertaining to indie movement. Somehow this term ‘indie’ is not commonly used now and people love to relate ‘indie’ to a movement. Let’s see how my search for ‘indie’ goes. It is a nice domain and I would like to make good use of it.
Any indie ideas out there?

In three days’ time, I would be celebrating hubby’s 45th birthday. This is also a good time to shop for unique valentine’s day gifts since valentine’s day is not far from now.

For those who are looking for unique valentine’s day gifts, take a look at this Morse Code Alphabet Necklace. This necklace is charmingly designed and handmade with the letters of your choice in modernized Morse code. Besides its personal, sophisticated and chic appearance, I find it simply beautiful with the series of shimmery crinkled sterling silver dots and dashes representing all the letters of the alphabet . They are hand hammered and shaped by artist Saundra Messinger for a beautifully textured and unique appearance.
Back to my hubby, perhaps I should be looking at some talking watches for his coming birthday!
