Ten years ago, I was all set up to learn bear making so that I could surprise my boyfriend with a hand sewn bear. After three months, I crafted my first bear for his birthday. I was proud of myself that I actually made a bear though I never did completed my second bear - the motivation wasn’t strong anymore. I guess my passion wasn’t strong enough too!

When I am feeling tired on a long and hectic day, all I want is to sit back, take a nice hot shower, make myself a cup of peppermint tea and light an aromatic candle in my bedroom. This summer, alot of my indie designer friends are taking a break from their crafting, painting, sewing and designing. I can’t enough of beautiful fabrics. When I first moved back home after my graduation, I had to unpack several moving boxes of handmade papers and unique fabrics. They were beautiful materials I had collected during my time away from home.

At Etsy.com today, I came across amy butler’s fabrics used by many indie sewers, craft makers and designers. Besides the usual bags, totes, bedding and pillow cases, her beautiful fabrics were made into baby changing pads, baby bibs and children’s clothing. This reminds me that I should check out her new line for some home remodeling projects this summer
