Wearable art is one way people used to describe the creations of indie artists and designers. My fifty year old aunt isn’t just another old lady who talks about medicare supplement and retirement homes, she is one cool lady who admires and collects modern and wearable art whenever she travels.
She was telling me about designer Ryan Kundrat’s jewelry lines for women which ranges from the elegant to the edgy. Clean lines and bright colors are signature to his hoopla creations. Using creative names and descriptive terms like hoopla, tink, tink black, martini, each collection has its distinctive features and personal touch that reflects his modern approach to traditional materials.

My dear sister has been raving non stop about the las vegas hotels she stayed in after a long holiday in Florida. She was showing me her shopping buys, psychedelic finds and her indie bargains… you could tell she had a great time in Las Vegas!
This sister of mine got so excited when I gave her this cute vintage pendant from Anne Kiel one Christmas. Anne Kiel is a jewelry designer known for her vintage illustrations and photographs set in sterling silver. She loves experimenting with modern form and bold use of color to create eclectic, hand-fabricated works of wearable art. Among some of her beautiful and artistic creations, I love the playful circles in her sterling silver Trio and Inner Circles… don’t ask me why but circles are creative forms that speak to me… they are perfectly whole and complete!

While we were traveling in New Zealand, we met many indie travelers who were either backpack or rent a campervan to tour the islands. This was one thing we wanted to do then, if only we were younger and had no parental responsibilities

This cool bro of mine loves his vehicle to the core. He spends his Sunday giving his beloved car a good wash and takes time to clean up the interiors, keeping it immaculately tidy and nice. He had just got his new Ford grills fixed and his arty farty girlfriend had just bought him this bright vintage Lollipop tree pillow-cover for his new cushions. All I know is she got it from dawanda dot com and the orange pillow cover was picked intentionally to match my bro’s car colour!

I just came from the website of Avalisa after learning about it through a design website. Just one look at the wall prints and wool rugs and you can tell that the designer for these elements of art is one who loves colour and design. Read the rest of this entry →

When it comes to skin care, I’m careful to choose those that are not too strong and harsh on my skins. I used to go for strong whitening ingredients which I realized had done more harm than good to my facial health. Not only was the money not well spent, it had brought damage to my skin. Other than getting a good cleanser, toner and moisturizer, I cannot leave home with a good sunscreen on my face. I just can’t afford new brown spots or sun spots near my eye area

Eversince a blog review by a fellow blogger last year, I have become a mineral convert. What I like about mineral makeup is the natural finish and the lightweight feeling I get after an application. Plus, they are much cheaper than most branded foundation and powder.

One of the popular and well reviewed mineral makeup brand has to be Bare Escentuals. Many women raved about their mineral foundation. Since I had so many different types on mineral makeup foundation to my collection now (thanks to all the sponsors), I didn’t picked up Bare Escentuals Get Started Kit but I knew that I would have to try something! What I like about BE products is that they have many pre-packed starter kits for those who are new to mineral makeup. Packed in a nice looking box, this is a great item to buy if you like to give mineral makeup a go. Besides, they make great gifts too.

I’m one person who can never resist lipsticks and lip glosses so after trying out the different shades at the counter, I finally bought the Wearable Bronze Lip Kit. The collection includes a Bare Escentuals Wearable Bronze Lipstick, a Bare Escentuals Wearable Bronze Lip Gloss and a Bare Escentuals Wearable Bronze Lip Liner. Bronze – Wearable Lip Kit assures you can wear this shade, and the outcome is totally up to you. And what do I think? Absolutely true! I love the lipstick colour – you can wear it on its own to give a natural and shimmery shine or add the lip gloss for a bolder look. The lip liner is a natural colour that goes well with any orange or brown tone lip colour. For a mere $30, this is a great buy! Here are some benefits from the website of Bare Escentuals Wearable Lip Kit ($40 Value)
:
- Bronze – Bare Escentuals Wearable Lip Kit works well with every woman’s skin shade.
- Bare Escentuals Wearable Lip Kits come with a complete array of lip looks including lip liner, lipstick, and lip gloss.
- Our vitamin-rich lipsticks provide a luxurious, aromatherapy treat for your lips with naturally moisturizing shea butter and deep-penetrating macadamia oil, cold pressed from the seeds of the Macadamia Ternifolia tree in Hawaii. Creamy, full-coverage lipsticks in rich hues leave lips soft, smooth and simply irresistible.
And know what, the wearable lip kit is now available in 6 beautiful shades so start shopping, ladies!
