Don’t ask me why but I just love the city of Perth. We were supposed to move to Perth in 3 years’ time but it seems that plans may change. Well, if you are into handmade accessories, then you mustn’t miss these cute ones Renee – jewellery designer and metalsmith of CocoaPod, who currently lives in a cute little town in Western Australia.
Renee loves to create using many different elements, some of my favourites include: freshwater pearls, wood, vintage beads, gems, Swarovski crystals. Sourced from all over the world. And I combine them with precious metal such as sterling silver, 14k gold-filled and brass, often making (metalsmithing) them myself.
A self-taught designer at an early age; by the age of 5, she was making and repairing her mother’s and her own jewellery. At the age of 10 she was even making some pieces for sale in a local store and then later on, part owner of a jewellery business called Jewel Mine, taught me the finer points. Talking about being an indie entrepreneur!
