I’ve been introduced to mineral makeup recently and am impressed with the concept and natural preparation of the products. After some research in the web, I realized that many of these mineral makeup stores are owned by indie owners who have a passion in all natural makeup stuff. I had the pleasure to review many mineral makeup along the way and it was inevitable to become a convert myself. Mineral makeup helps to save not only money but time and most of all, they do not clog pores and help the skin breathe better. Here a couple of recommendations if you would like to give mineral makeup a go:

I’m out scouting for indie blogs to add on to this blog and I stumbled upon IndieFixx this morning. This blog focuses on indie designs and like its caption, it’s meant to help you get your indie fix with all the recommendations.

Being a designer myself, I’m enticed by the many arty farty selections and would be checking them one by one in the next few weeks. Since I’m seeking to be more organized in the coming New Year, I was attracted by the calendar recommendations and this one from Little Otsu stood out to me. It seems good for people like me who tend to skip dates since I have a busy schedule to juggle. You can find a year and a half of dateless months and corresponding notes pages plus room for important personal info in one spiral-bound book filled with Chris Duncan’s drawings and stitch work. Because of its dateless format, you don’t need to worry about being too systematic.

Oh yes, I love promoting indie designers and artists though at times, I am still lured to check out the latest labels and trends in town. It is great to see that many indie designers who started out humbly had gone into mainstream with their own labels after some time. This is admirable and simply goes to show that indie designers have a great future too. Hopefully people will start to pay more attention to indie designers and artists and not think that their works are below standards for any reason.

Most people imagine backpacking trips as something that you would only do with friends or some family members but one should really consider the possibilities of going on a backpacking adventure totally alone, it will be an unforgettable experience that nothing could ever replace. Some might be afraid to do this, so really it is for someone with a really adventurous, brave side to them. Read the rest of this entry →

Whenever it comes to describing a little about myself, I’ll always tell people that I’m a travel freak. I make it a point to take a long vacation at least once a year and if possible, couple of short trips in between. I used to be an indie traveller before settling down but even then, I still love to read about indie travel stories and features. If you enjoy traveling like I do, The Indie Travel Podcast is a weekly show with travel ideas and advice for independent travellers, backpackers and anyone with itchy feet. It’s really not just for indie travellers but anyone who admire the adventure and fun of being in a another place. Here’s the link for more info: http://www.indietravelpodcast.com

Seriously, I’ve always love collecting writing sets, wrapping paper and stationery. At one point, my mom got worried about the ‘junk’ I was accumulating at home! Even now, I can’t resist these printing paper stuff when I’m in the paper shops, gifts shops or when I’m traveling. People bring back souvenirs and I’ll bring back paper stuff!
I stumbled upon this lovely site Poppies for Grace during my usual online research sessions. I can’t tell you how much I love these beautiful writing sets – they are practical, creative, unique, personal and affordable. Believe me, they are hard to resist!
